Twenty-second virtue: non-fat
body

Fear from God has weakened
their bodies like a narrow beam of shaving.

Being thin, as Amir al-Mu minin
says in the virtues of the righteous, does not mean that they are powerless. We
have said before that inability is not a virtue that amir al-Muminin would praise pious people for that. The Prophet said:

A strong believer is better and
more popular to God than a weak believer.

Of course, financial and physical
disability can sometimes be considered as a blessing, because one is unable to
oppress others and deprive them of their rights.

Yes, not having the power to hurt
people is a blessing, but it s not a virtue. The one who has no eyes has the
blessing that he does not look into haram things
because he cannot, or the one who is mute has the blessing that he does not do
linguistic sins because he cannot, but these are not virtues. It is a virtue
for one who has eyes and does look at haram things, or has a tongue but does
not suffer from lies and absences and other linguistic sins.

So here, in the sense of
expressing the virtues of piety, should not be taken to mean being slender,
because being slim or fat is not a virtue or a vicious thing.

So here, in the sense of
expressing the virtues of piety, should not be taken to mean being slender,
because being slim or fat is not a virtue or a vicious thing.

The correct meaning of being thin
in this word of Amir al-Mu minin as the expressor of virtue of pious must be
understood as non-overeating and not to indecent laziness.

indecent  and praised  self-indulgense

Physical
training with sports and sport competitions are one of the things that is very
much emphasized in Islam and has been devoted to independent discussion in
jurisprudence books. Imam Sadegh peace be upon him announces sports events
with the presence and encouragement of the Prophet:

The Prophet held a race among the horse riders, and the prizes were given
by the Prophet himself.

Your body is your saddle, if you overcame it you would kill it and if you
tolerate it would remain.

Indecent self-indulgense

The term laziness
is commonly used for this type. Being nurtured and not tolerating the hardships
necessary to achieve lofty goals and prosperity is this type .

This type has
been considered in the words of the Prophet peace be upon him by which he has
expressed as a concern over the Islamic Ummah:

There are
three things I am afraid of after myself: misleading after misleading knowledge
and tests and abdominal lust and sexual desire.

ص64

Most of what
my nation enters into Hellfire are two things in vain: the belly and genital.

self-indulgense
is associated with eating too much, and according to the Qur an, excessive
eating induces God to anger! The Holy Quran says:

Eat of the good things We have provided for you, but do
not be excessive therein, lest My wrath descends upon you. He upon
whom My wrath descends has fallen.

Confronting this Indecent self-indulgense and
resisting unnecessary physical pleasures is the basis for human excellence and
progress in moral and spiritual realms.
