لِلّهِ بِجَمِیعِ مَحَامِدِه کُلِّهَا عَلَی جَمِیعِ نِعَمِهِ کُلِّهَا… اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ مالِکِ الْمُلْکِ
مُجْرِی الْفُلْکِ مُسَخِّرِ الرِّیاحِ فالِقِ الاْصْباحِ دَیّانِ الدّینِ رَبِّ
الْعَالَمینَ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ عِلمِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ
عَلی عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی طُولِ اَناتِهِ فی
غَضَبِهِ وَهُوَ قادِرٌ عَلی ما یُریدُ
ثم الصلاه و السلام علی محمد عبده و رسوله ارسله بالهدی و
دین الحق لیظهره علی الدین کله و لو کره المشرکون
عبادالله و نفسی بتقوی الله و اتباع امره و نهیه، و اخوفکم من عقابه
Eleventh Virtue: Tolerance with People
People are safe from their evil.
One of the basic problems of human societies,
which is the source of many individual, ethnic, regional and global conflicts,
is the lack of respect for the law, and the failure to respect the rights of
other members of the human community. This problem is ahead
of the spirit of the inherent exaggerate nature of mankind, which manifests
itself in different forms in good individuals. International organizations that have
been established in history, such as the League of Nations, the United Nations,
the International Organization for Human Rights, International Court of Justice in The Hague, are all based on the idea of defending the
rights of the poor against the aggression and high demands of established
oppressors. The failure of these organizations in their original goals is also
in the same way as the intrinsic character of human beings.
The image that religious sources show us from
believing humans is a human who pay attention to others rights and respects it.
This attention to law and respect for the rights of others are observed in
بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ يَقُولُ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عَنْ صِفَةِ الْمُؤْمِنِ
فَنَكَسَ رَأْسَهُ ثُمَّ رَفَعَهُ فَقَالَ: فِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عِشْرُونَ خَصْلَةً
فَمَنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ فِيهِ لَمْ يَكْمُلْ إِيمَانُهُ، يَا عَلِيُّ إِنَّ
الْمُؤْمِنِينَ … إِذَا وَعَدُوا لَمْ يُخْلِفُوا، وَ إِذَا اؤْتُمِنُوا لَمْ
يَخُونُوا، وَ إِنْ تَكَلَّمُوا صَدَقُوا… لَا يُؤْذُونَ جَاراً وَ لَا
يَتَأَذَّى بِهِمْ جَارٌ… امالي صدوق؛ ص547
Ayur-i-Mu minin says that one day I asked the
Prophet Muhammad about the attributes of a believer and he answered me:
“There are twenty attributes for a faithful person, and if he does not
have just one of those, he is not a believer. When
they promise they don’t betray, and they do not betray the trust, and say the
right word, and they are harmless for their neighbors.
The utopia that Islam portrays and demands is
a society that makes its citizens such people. The space of such a human
community will be full of safety, ease, social peace and comfort of life. The
conflict over the lost and violated rights will not be among such a community.
رَسُولُ اللَّهِ : أَ لَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِالْمُؤْمِنِ، مَنِ ائْتَمَنَهُ
الْمُؤْمِنُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ أَمْوَالِهِمْ؛ أَ لَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ
بِالْمُسْلِمِ مَنْ سَلِمَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ لِسَانِهِ وَ يَدِهِ محاسن برقی؛
ج1 ، ص285
The Prophet said: “are you aware that the
believer is the one whose people consider him to be truthful to their own life
and property; are you aware that a Muslim is the one who other Muslims are
secure from his language and deeds?
In the point of view of the Prophet pbuh ,
the value of tolerance and good behavior with the people, and relief in their
actions, are considered beyond the jihad in the way of God. Abu Dharr, in a
conversation with prophet, says:
I said, which of the acts is more beloved for
God? He said: “Belief in God and then Jihad in the way of Allah.
I said: “Which of the Believers is most
complete than others?” He said the one which
his morals are better.
I said which of the believers is superior to
all of them? He said the one that Muslims are secure from his deeds and tongue.
On the contrary, about the worst people are
narrated from the Prophet of Allah:
The Prophet said: Do you want me to introduce the
worst of people?
The companions said yes O messenger of Allah
He said: He is one who hates people and people
hate him too.
Then he said: “do you want me to
introduce a worse case too?
said yes Prophet.
He said: “One who does not solve a
problem of others, does not accept the excuse of others, and does not forgive
wrong action of others.”
Then he said: “Do you want a worse case?”
They said yes O prophet.
He said: “The One that people are not safe
from his evil, and they have no hope of having a benefit from him.”
الله: إِنَّ شَرَّ النَّاسِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَنْزِلَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ
تَرَكَهُ النَّاسُ اتِّقَاءَ شَرِّهِ صحیح بخاری؛ ح5540
The Prophet said: “The worst people for
God on the Day of Judgment is a person who people avoid him because of his fear
A society in which citizens adhere to the
teachings of the Holy Qur an in their social relationships, which states:
يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنُوا
أَوْفُوا بِالْعُقُودِ مایده 1
O you who believe! Fulfill your
Or in another verse:
«قَدْ جاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ
رَبِّكُمْ فَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَ الْميزانَ وَ لا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ
أَشْياءَهُمْ؛ الاعراف 85
A clear proof has come to you from
your Lord. Give full measure and weight, and do not cheat people out of their

unity, free from any conflict, fights and trial. And

يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَداءَ
لِلَّهِ وَ لَوْ عَلى أَنْفُسِكُمْ أَوِ الْوالِدَيْنِ وَ الْأَقْرَبينَ؛ نسا

justice, as witnesses to God, even if against yourselves, or your parents, or
