اَلْحَمْدُ
لِلّهِ بِجَمِیعِ مَحَامِدِه کُلِّهَا عَلَی جَمِیعِ نِعَمِهِ کُلِّهَا اَلْحَمْدُ
لِلّهِ مالِکِ الْمُلْکِ مُجْرِی الْفُلْکِ مُسَخِّرِ الرِّیاحِ فالِقِ الاْصْباحِ
دَیّانِ الدّینِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمینَ اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی حِلْمِهِ بَعْدَ
عِلمِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ عَلی عَفْوِهِ بَعْدَ قُدْرَتِهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ
عَلی طُولِ اَناتِهِ فی غَضَبِهِ وَهُوَ قادِرٌ عَلی ما یُریدُ

ثم
الصلاه و السلام علی محمد عبده و رسوله ارسله بالهدی و دین الحق لیظهره علی الدین
کله و لو کره المشرکون

اوصیکم
عبادالله و نفسی بتقوی الله و اتباع امره و نهیه، و اخوفکم من عقابه.

 

After learning the general
features of the Qur an as the last divine healing, we refer to the teachings of
the Qur an. So far, we were engaged in external knowledge of the Qur an, and we
studied this divine book, and from today we will enter this book and we will
learn from inside of it.

The most important message of God
in the Qur an is “virtue” and inviting to it. All the material
mentioned in the Qur an, which we have categorized and reviewed in the past
sermons, serves this message and wants to bring man to the peak of virtue and
prosperity. Now we discuss about this important divine message:

 

Phases of
piety

In the Holy
Quran, Piety has been
used in two stages of human life:

1.    Piety before faith

This stage of virtue is related to the purity of the heart and human
himself, which makes man ready to accept the message of truth. To take an
effect from the Word of God and the words of the messengers you should have a
righteousness and authority. The Quran says about the audience of Moses, Jesus
and Prophet Muhammad:

  وَلَقَدْ
آتَيْنَا مُوسَى وَهَارُونَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاءً وَذِكْرًا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
﴿انبیاء:۴۸﴾

We gave Moses and Aaron
the Criterion, and illumination, and a reminder for the righteous.

 
وَقَفَّيْنَا عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ بِعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا
بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْإِنْجِيلَ فِيهِ هُدًى وَنُورٌ
وَمُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةً
لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿مائده:۴۶﴾

In their footsteps, we sent Jesus son of
Mary, fulfilling the Torah that preceded him; and We gave him the Gospel,
wherein is guidance and light, and confirming the Torah that preceded him, and
guidance and counsel for the righteous.

هَذَا
بَيَانٌ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ ﴿آل عمران:۱۳۸﴾

This is a proclamation to
humanity, and guidance, and advice for the righteous.

 

The Holy Qur an presents two
conflicting conclusions in expressing the effect of the words of the divine
prophets on the two groups of human beings. These words are healing and guiding
for one group, and for the other group they will be damaging and misleading:

 

  وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
وَلَا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ﴿اسراء:۸۲﴾

We send down in the Quran healing and mercy for the believers, but it
increases the wrongdoers only in loss.

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ
أَأَنْذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿آل عمران:۶﴾

It is He who forms you in the wombs as He wills. There is no
god except He, the Almighty, the Wise.

وَلَيَزِيدَنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنْهُمْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ
مِنْ رَبِّكَ طُغْيَانًا وَكُفْرًا فَلَا تَأْسَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
﴿مائده:۶۸﴾

But
what is revealed to you from your Lord will increase many of them in rebellion
and disbelief, so do not be sorry for the disbelieving people.

 

The fact that
religious is not taken into consideration by some people but rather reversed by
the rise and disbelief of many of them, shows that there should first be a
favorable context for the acceptance of the truth.

And when Quran
says :

كَانَ النَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ
اللَّهُ النَّبِيِّينَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنْذِرِينَ وَأَنْزَلَ مَعَهُمُ الْكِتَابَ
بِالْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فِيمَا اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ
فِيهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ
بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ﴿بقره:۲۱۳﴾

Humanity
used to be one community; then God sent the prophets, bringing good news and
giving warnings. And He sent down with them the Scripture, with the truth, to
judge between people regarding their differences. But none differed over it except
those who were given it—after the proofs had come to them—out of mutual envy
between them.

It is exactly the
same point. The evil people rise up against the light of the prophets, because
their injustice and their evil ways are revealed in the light of truth:

2.    Piety after faith

Piety after faith
means the practice of the religious orders and the commandments and desires of
the Lord, and also it has wide range, which is mentioned in the Qur an in two different levels of Perfect and Recognition:

Recognition level of piety

The primitive and lower level of piety, is that man
should do his duties and leave the privileges as long as he can :

  
فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ تغابن:16

So be
conscious of God as much as you can

This verse gives
man the command to afford and be able to observe piety as
much as he can.

 

Perfect level of piety

Obedience to the
commands of God, as worthy of God s position, is considered to be the highest
rank of piety:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا
اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ آل عمران:102

O you
who believe! Revere God with due reverence, and do not die except as Muslims.

Getting to this rank
of worship and the peak of piety, of course, is not normal for people, without
passing the stages of self-perfection and the path of journey to Allah. this is
the same as the Prophet said this quote from the angels: ” O God, you are
pure and we did not worship you as we should. ”
